Body found near creek in Ringgold | GBI assisting Catoosa Co. Sheriff with investigation

RINGGOLD, Ga. -- The Catoosa County Sheriff's Office has requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as part of a death investigation.

According to Chattanooga NBC station WRCB, Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk says the body was found near Chickamauga Creek in Ringgold on Sunday.

Deputies are working with GBI agents to determine if the body was found in the water or not.

WRCB says a portion of Depot Street in Ringgold has been blocked by the investigation.
