CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — According to fire officials, a car caught fire early Thursday morning, closing a road in Cherokee County for several hours.
The department first posted about the incident on the social media network Threads.
Cherokee County Fire Department said it happened on Knox Bridge Highway at Oakdale Road around 8:30 a.m.
Firefighters found a truck carrying straw that ignited into flames. Fire officials added the fire is under control, and Knox Bridge Highway has since been reopened.
Officials with the fire department said that the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office was on the scene to help with traffic control.
