Robber, owner and employee dead after liquor store robbery attempt

College Park police found the suspected robber dead in the doorway and the owner further inside. The employee later died at the hospital.

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -- Three people are dead after a shooting at a College Park liquor store.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirms the victims:

The cashier Mashona Roberts, 35, from Atlanta

The suspect Brandon Doe, 19, from Sparks, GA

The store owner Tea Mo, 55, from Marietta

According to College Park Police Major Lance Patterson, at around 8 p.m. officers arrived at Old National Liquor where they found a man dead in the doorway. Further inside, Patterson said police found the store owner dead as well.

A third person, an employee of the store, was also shot and rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. However, officials have since confirmed that she, too, has died.

Initial investigation suggests that it all began when the man in the door attempted to rob the store. Police said he pulled out a handgun and laid everyone on the ground.

"At some point, the owner of the store produced a handgun himself and a shootout ensued," Patterson said.

He added that they know the owner was shot by the perpetrator and vice versa. The employee was also hit but police aren't yet sure who fired the bullet that hit her.

Police believe, at this point, that the deceased robber acted alone.

"We don't have any witnesses saying anything about a second person," Patterson said.

As such, the investigation is currently limited to the store. However, police do confirm that there were other patrons in the store when the gun battle began.
