COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — Officials are investigating after a small plane crashed in Coweta County on Wednesday morning.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a single-engine Piper PA-28 crashed on East Highway 16 in Newnan, Georgia, around 11:10 a.m. Deputies with the Coweta County Sheriff's Office also responded to the area of E Hwy 16 and Newnan Crossing Bypass.
The FAA said two people were on board when the plane crashed, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
