ATLANTA – Two members - members of an apparent rap group - were struck early Friday morning on a popular Atlanta bridge.
Atlanta police were called to Jackson Street Bridge for two people hit by a car early Friday morning.
Police said a group of people from a rap group were shooting a scene for an upcoming video when the accident occurred. Two men, later identified as 45-year-old Karim Simmons and 40-year-old Kevin Megginson, were in the road when they were hit by a car coming up Jackson Street.
Police confirmed the two were the member of a rap group but couldn't provide any details about which on. One of the men was taken to Atlanta Medical Center and the other was taken to Grady Memorial. Police said both men are stable however an exact condition wasn't provided.
The female driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with police. Officials said the two men are being cited with pedestrian in the roadway and the driver won’t be charged with anything.
“It was an unfortunate accident that occurred,” Captain Reginald Moorman with Atlanta said.
Jackson Street Bridge is known for its view of Atlanta’s skyline and is a popular place for people to come and take photos of the city.
