A Tuesday night fire ends with one person dead.
Officials haven't released the victims identity.
The fire caused damage to several units at an apartment complex on Vesta Avenue in East Point just after 11 p.m.
The City of East Point Fire Department said their crews battled heavy flames and smoke on the lower level of a six unit apartment building. It took them about 25 minutes to get the fire under control.
The Red Cross is helping five families displaced by the fire.
Officials are still working to learn the cause of the fire.
