The Georgia Bulldogs may have one of the biggest and most impressive draft classes in the school's history, but only time will tell.
The NFL Draft will take place at AT&T Stadium in Dallas this weekend with the first round beginning on Thursday.
The Bulldogs have 15 players who have declared for the draft, headlined by former linebacker and Butkus Award Winner Roquan Smith.
Smith could be the Bulldogs' latest first round pick since Leonard Floyd was selected No. 9 overall to the Chicago Bears in 2016. It is almost certain that he will fall within the top 10, with some projections going as high as No. 6 to the Colts, but No. 9 or 10 overall to the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders, respectively, is more likely.
"I take them all in at the same rate because at the end of the day it’s just business," Smith told 11Alive when asked about meeting with various teams. "Pretty much all teams just want to get to know you better as a person and just know your football IQ."
The Montezuma, Georgia native has never lived outside of the Peach State.
"It’ll be something different," Smith said when asked about picking up his life and heading west. "Pretty much wherever I go, regardless of whether it’s the west coast or east coast, I pretty much never lived in either of those cities. It’ll be an adjustment."
If Smith goes before nine, he'll be the Bulldogs' highest draft pick since A.J. Green was drafted fourth overall to the Cincinnati Bengals in 2011. But he may not be the only player going in the first round.
Isaiah Wynn is one of the top lineman in the draft and could be taken in the first round. Lorenzo Carter, after an impressive NFL Combine, may have increased his draft stock and could be a linebacker teams eye late in the first round. Don't forget the running backs.
A team may reach for Sony Michel or Nick Chubb, although most projections have them going on the second day of the draft.
If at least three Bulldogs are drafted in the first round, it will be the most Georgia players drafted in the first round in history.
The most Bulldogs ever drafted in the seven-round format is eight. That happened in 2013 with a class headlined by Jarvis Jones and Alec Ogletree who were both selected in the opening round. It also happened in 2002.
Outside of the first couple of rounds, several Bulldogs are expected to get drafted.
They include receiver Javon Wims who became a frequent target for quarterback Jake Fromm and showed off his vertical ability as well as his hands last season.
"It's different from college. You're professional now," Wims told 11Alive while preparing for the Draft. "Just go out there and train, able to enjoy family a little more now. And just go out there and do what I love."
John Atkins, Trenton Thompson, Davin Bellamy and Aaron Davis are all guys who could be drafted in the later rounds or picked up after as undrafted free agents.
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart touts the latest draft class as being especially good leaders.
"You can't replace a Roquan Smith. You don't replace a Sony Michel or Nick Chubb. You don't replace any of those guys," Smart said during his team's spring practices. "Because there's not going to be another Roquan Smith. There's not going to be a guy exactly like him."
Other players eligible to be drafted include Reggie Carter, Dyshon Sims, Jeb Blazevich, Malkom Parrish and Cameron Nizialek.
