ATLANTA — All lanes on I-285 North on the Westside Perimeter were closed Saturday afternoon due to an overturned tractor trailer.
It happened just south of Cascade Road.
Police originally said there were no serious injuries involved, but later said an 8-year-old had been transported to Grady Hospital from the scene - though the extent of the child's injuries were not clear.
The wreck appeared to involve at least two or three other vehicles, according to APD.
First responder vehicles from Atlanta Fire Rescue, EMS and Hero were on scene.
According to police, crews are working to clear the accident while as of 1 p.m. the Georgia Department of Transportation reports an anticipated end time to the situation of 1:45 p.m.
