ATLANTA — A tractor-trailer fire on I-285 is causing major delays for westbound traffic.
The fire was reported on the south side of the perimeter in the westbound lanes near Jonesboro Road in Fulton County and is blocking most lanes. However, the Georgia Department of Transportation reports it should be cleared fairly quickly now that the fire itself has been brought under control.
The fire initially sent a large plume of smoke across the interstate during one of the busiest hours of the week - Friday afternoon rush hour.
