ATLANTA -- Yet another case of a pedestrian on an interstate has left a man dead in Atlanta.
Police confirm that an unidentified white male died late Wednesday after being struck on westbound I-20 near Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard.
A witness said that the man came across the eastbound lanes over the median wall and into traffic on the other side. He was struck by a red SUV in the far right lane.
Police said the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating as they investigate. No charges are expected in the accident.
It's only the latest of several pedestrian-involved accidents that have happened on a metro Atlanta interstate in the last week. In fact, another pedestrian died earlier in the evening on I-20 only miles away near its intersection with I-285.
That person was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital but later died.
