MORROW, Ga. — Several lanes of traffic on a busy south Atlanta road were shut down after a sinkhole opened up.
According to the Morrow Police Department, Georgia Department of Transportation crews responded to northbound lanes of Jonesboro Road, just before the I-75 bridge. That's where they found the "very deep" sink hole in the far left lane of Jonesboro Road.
A spokesperson for GDOT told 11Alive two northbound and one southbound lanes were closed while crews made repairs.
Crews are working to smooth things out in time for morning commuters and the hole has been repaired but one turn lane is still blocked.
