As thousands of travelers find themselves in the dark and stuck on the ground at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, many are taking to social media to share their experiences, ask questions and to get information from officials.
Food is becoming a problem for some.
Nikki Carrigna posted on Twitter a picture of what she’s describing as dinner after sitting on a grounded plan for more than three hours.
Constantine posted on Twitter that after sitting on a tarmac with his family, the plane ran out of water and started passing out diet coke.
My wife, 3 years old daughter and 6 month old son have been sitting on the tarmac since 2pm. Their plane is out of water and is now passing out Diet Coke. How do we not have a plan to transport those on planes to terminals? #atlairport

Cellphone service is also becoming an issue. Also, as people’s phones die, they lose the ability to contact family members that could be waiting for them.
The airport is crazy right now. Lots of frustrated travelers. Still dark. Cell service barely working for the last three hours. @11alivenews #ATLairport pic.twitter.com/dTGQsYuAKc

But, people are keeping their humor.
The airport and government officials are also using social media to spread the latest updates.
