Thousands still without power Monday after winter storm

Crews continue to restore power throughout metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Less than 100,000 people remain without power on Monday morning, as crews from major utility companies continue restoring electricity after this weekend's winter storm.

As of 7:25 AM on Monday, December 11, Georgia Power said just about 5,046 affected customers still without power. At about the same time, Georgia EMC said over 19,000 customers remain without power.

Friday's storms knocked out power to large swaths of homes west of I-75, in the north Georgia mountains and in metro Atlanta.
