Timeline | Early morning winter weather advisory issued for parts of metro Atlanta

According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 1:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8.

Looks like the peach state is in for another winter weather event early Monday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 1:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8.

Residents should expect light freezing rain and a total ice accumulation of around 1/10 of an inch or less.

A second advisory will go into effect for north-central Georgia at 5:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m and the third advisory will go into effect at 6:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. for northeast Georgia.

TIMELINE

Between 8 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., metro Atlanta can expect to see a light freezing rain mixed with a drizzle with little to no accumulation of ice.

From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. expect light rain but temperatures should be warm enough (still very cold) to not expect any ice accumulation on the roads.

And from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. residents can expect continued light rain.
