ATLANTA — Fans of the hit 1970’s television sitcom “Good Times” were saddened by the news, Monday, that actress Ja'Net Du’Bois had died suddenly.

The beloved actress was adored by many fans and died at age 74. DuBois reportedly died in her sleep at her home in Glendale, California, and was found Tuesday morning, TMZ reported.

According to reports, DuBois didn't seem to have any serious health issues recently. DuBois famously composed and sang the theme song "Movin' On Up" for the classic show "The Jeffersons." She was in many movies through the years like "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle," "Tropic Thunder" and "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka."

Here are a few moments we are sure fans will always remember about her character Willona Woods on “Good Times.”

Style icon and boutique

Willona’s funkadelic outfits on “Good Times” were always a show-stealer for the audience.  The show, which was taped in front of a live studio audience, constantly featured her character in bold fabrics, furs, and loud looks inspired by the timeframe. Woods was also always stylish because of her career. She worked at a boutique on the show.

Nosey neighbor

Audiences loved Willona’s quick wit as main character Florida Evans's nosey neighbor and best friend on the show. Each time a neighbor or guest would leave the Evans residence inside a housing authority project, Willona would not be too far away.

Willona adopts Penny

“Good Times” added more star power to its cast when production brought on Janet Jackson, at the age of 9, appeared as Penny Gordon Woods. Her character was facing child abuse and captivated homes across America with a powerful scene that displayed the topic. Willona took Penny under her wing and Janet Jackson soon became a household name.

Forever single

Willona first appeared on “Good Times” as a woman who moved into the housing projects following a divorce. While her character always had time to be nosey for the Evans family, she never quite found luck in her love life.
