ATLANTA — Atlanta’s very own Lil Nas X “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus is one the year’s biggest music videos.
In less than a year, it has broken Billboard records, taken home a MTV Video Music award, and has been viewed more than 300 million times on YouTube, and recently landed a BET Hip Hop Awards nod.
Now Calmatic, the director of the video, is setting his sights on a new project!
It's recently been reported that Calmatic is now set to remake “House Party,” the 1990 cult classic starring Christopher Martin, Christopher Reid and Martin Lawrence
According to his own website, the director describes himself as a filmmaker, historian, and artist born and raised in South Central Los Angeles.
The Hollywood Reporter writes Atlanta’s own Stephen Glover and Jamal Olori wrote the script for the new movie.
Lebron James' SpringHill Entertainment will help produce this feature in partnership with Maverick Carter.
We'll see if this remake goes down in Atlanta!
