ATLANTA — The third and most recent season of Netflix’s hit show “Stranger Things” left fans on the edge wanting more and now fans can wait for the next big season.
“We’re not in Hawkins anymore,” the text on the screen of the “Stranger Things: 4” on Netflix’s Youtube video served as the official announcement for what’s to come.
Season four will be the door that opens more content from The Duffer Brothers.
The global success of the show has landed the show’s creators, the Duffer Brothers, a big-multi-year film and series overall deal, Deadline reports.
While a release date for the fourth season hasn’t been announced., actress Reese Witherspoon recently put in her bid to appear on the show.
The actress posted this throwback photo to her Twitter with two of the stars in the show -- asking producers if they are hiring. We'll have to wait and see if this happens.
"Hey Stranger Things… are y'all hiring for a fourth season?! So much love for these kiddos and their show," she wrote.
We have a feeling the show's creator The Duffer Brothers might just make this happen.
The first season of ‘Stranger Things’ was a love letter to ’80s classics that captivated a generation.
The series is set in 1983 in Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl, Eleven.
"Stranger Things" season two took us to 1984, where citizens of Hawkins, Indiana were still reeling from the horrors of the Demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down, but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.
Atlanta’s very own Priah Ferguson returns as Erica Sinclair, the younger sister of Mclaughlin’s character Lucas, in the third season.
A place you’ll be seeing a lot this season is The Gwinnett Place Mall reimagined on Stranger Things as The Starcourt Mall.
The Starcourt Mall will be one of the finest shopping facilities in America and beyond with options for the entire family. Including the Gap, Waldenbooks, Sam Goody, Claire's and more. Don't forget to cool off at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream shop. And it’s all set in the summer of 1984.
Details on the production of Stranger Things fourth season has not been released.
Meanwhile, Stranger Things star David Harbour, just wrapped up his time on set in Atlanta for the upcoming Marvel film “Black Widow” starring Scarlett Johansson.
