ATLANTA — Two metro Atlanta restaurants made OpenTable’s inaugural list of the 50 Best Restaurants for a Date in America for 2019.
“Given the added stress daters face when looking for the right restaurant, we wanted to create a go-to list that offers a restaurant for any date - whether it’s your first or one-thousandth,” said Anna Besse, Director of Marketing at OpenTable, in a press release. “And for a more personalized experience, diners can turn to our ‘Date Night Matchmaker’ feature for a no-fret way to find the perfect restaurant based on their specific dining preferences.”
Ray’s on the River, the restaurant known for its view of the Chattahoochee River, made the national list, which features restaurants across more than 20 states. Ray’s on the River currently holds a 4.6 rating on OpenTable.
"We have enjoyed this restaurant every time we have been there. Food is good, the view is beautiful, and it's nice to walk the gardens," a recent review said.
You can find Ray's on the River in Sandy Springs at 6700 Powers Ferry Road.
Another Atlanta restaurant with a reputation for its unique view also made the list of top date night dining spots. Located 723 feet above downtown Atlanta, the Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar and View is located at the Westin Peachtree Plaza.
A recent reviewer summed up dining at the 4.5 rated Sun Dial Restaurant: "From the moment we walked in to our ride on the elevators we were overwhelmed."
You can find the Sun Dial Restaurant at 210 Peachtree Street in Atlanta.
Other Georgia restaurants that made the list include The Olde Pink House Restaurant and Vic’s on the River, both in Savannah, GA.
According to OpenTable, the list is generated from diner reviews collected between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019.
"All restaurants with a minimum “overall” rating and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the sum of tags spanning “GoodForDates” or “Good for a Date” as a percentage of total reviews," the announcement said.
