$5,000 reward offered for information on murder suspect who escaped custody while at Grady Hospital

Carwon Redding, 32, escaped from custody of Atlanta City Detention Center on Sept. 27 while awaiting treatement at Grady Hospital.

ATLANTA — A $5,000 reward is now being offered in the search for a murder suspect who escaped from an Atlanta hospital last week. 

Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta announced a reward for anyone with information about the location of 32-year-old Carwon Marquavious Redding. Tipsters do not have to provide their name or any identifying information to qualify for the reward, the organization said.

According to Atlanta Police, Redding escaped from the custody of Atlanta City Detention Center staff on Sept. 27 as he was awaiting medical treatment at Grady Hospital.

He was initially arrested by MARTA Police the day before in connection to an April 14 homicide on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. He's been charged with felony murder and criminal attempt to sell cocaine, police said. 

In the below photo, Redding was captured on surveillance leaving Grady Hospital. Police said that Redding may have disrobed and could be wearing different clothing.

Police said the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his escape is ongoing.
