CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office announced Monday it arrested a 69-year-old man who allegedly traveled to the area believing he was meeting up with two 14-year-old girls for sex.
The sheriff's office said Wayne Wilderom, of Chatsworth, communicated online with Internet Crimes Against Children detectives and sent nude images of himself to what he believed were two teen girls.
Then he allegedly traveled to Cherokee County to meet them.
The sheriff's office said it arrested Wilderom near Woodstock on Friday. He was charged with two counts each of attempted child molestation, sexual exploitation of a minor, obscene internet contact with a child, computer or electronic pornography and pandering to a person under the age of 18.
Wilderom is being held without bond at the Cherokee County Detention Center, the sheriff's office said.
The agency said it was the third arrest by the Internet Crimes Against Children unit in seven days.
