Third metro Atlanta CVS hit in string of apparent smash-and-grab attempts

The latest one occurred on Lawrenceville Hwy. in DeKalb County.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — The storefront of a DeKalb County CVS was battered early Thursday morning in the third recent apparent smash-and-grab attempt around metro Atlanta.

Previous, nearly identical incidents occurred on July 10 in Cobb County and on August 9 on Cascade Road in Atlanta.

11Alive's Liza Lucas went to the scene where the storefront had been crashed through.

There hasn't, to this point, been any explicit detail of a suspected or apparent connection between the three incidents in three different counties, despite their similarities -- with three different police departments in three different jurisdictions responding on each occasion.

No suspects, or suspect vehicles, have been provided in any of the three cases.

Police said in the Cobb County incident that there was a failed attempt to take an ATM from the store. It's not clear in either the Cascade Road incident or the latest one Thursday morning if similar motives were readily apparent.
