DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — No suspects have been named in a shooting that left six men hurt in Decatur on Thursday night; here's what we know so far, according to the DeKalb County Police Department.
What happened on Greenway Drive?
Police said the incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 2300 block of Greenway Drive at the intersection of Snapfinger Way in Decatur. The home is not far from the Kroger on Wesley Chapel Road near Wesley Chapel Park.
Six men were found shot and taken to different hospitals, with DeKalb County Police Lt. Shane Smith stating their conditions varied from minor to serious. Although Smith said, it does not appear at this time that any of the injuries sustained were life-threatening.
What is the police saying started it?
Smith said the shooting started between two groups of men following an argument.
Who are the victims?
Police have only said the victims are men between the ages of 18 and 48 years old, adding that about a dozen people were involved in the incident in total. Police said that so far, during their investigation, it seems no bystanders were involved or hurt in the shooting.
Who are the suspects?
No details have been given about the suspects, and DeKalb Police have no one in custody. Police stated that a nearby car was reportedly involved, but upon investigation, it was determined to be unrelated to the incident.
DeKalb County Police Department said officers would be interviewing and collecting evidence.
