ATLANTA — A 23-year-old man arrested in Illinois will be extradited to Georgia to face charges in connection with a deadly shooting that happened over the summer, according to Atlanta Police.
APD said the man was taken into custody by the DeKalb Police Department in DeKalb, Illinois, a city that's located about 65 miles from Chicago.
He was taken into custody in Illinois on charges unrelated to the Atlanta homicide, APD aid.
Police did not say the exact charges the 23-year-old would face here. However, APD said the man would be extradited to Atlanta for his alleged involvement in a homicide that occurred in the 1600 block of Hollywood Road on June 3.

On that night, police said they were called to the Reserve at Hollywood apartments around 11 p.m. When they arrived, police found a man -- who was later identified as Jacquez Harris -- behind a building. He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
He was 21 years old.
