ATLANTA — A man accused of robbing a jogger at gunpoint along the BeltLine on Memorial Day has been arrested, police confirm.
Authorities took 20-year-old Quintavious Walker into custody around 6:30 p.m. June 5 at an apartment complex off Misty Waters Drive in Decatur.
The arrest comes after police said Walker robbed a woman as she ran along the busy trail.
According to a police report, the victim told officers she was running north, and when she reached the end at Lena Street, she turned around and noticed a man trying to flag her down. The report said she ignored him.
The suspect then tapped her on the shoulder and pulled out a gun from his waistband, pointing it at her side, according to the report.
The victim told police he demanded the fanny pack that had her keys inside, and she handed it over to the man. The victim said he took off on Harwell Street toward Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The victim ran until she reached Stafford Street and called 911. The incident report said her bag was found and the only thing that was taken was her iPhone X.
Authorities are now charging Walker with armed robbery and aggravated assault in connection to the incident.
In addition to the BeltLine robbery, though, Walker faces other charges connected to an April 25 shooting off Cleveland Avenue and another May 29 armed robbery off Lena Street, and more charges could be pending.
Police took Walker to the Fulton County Jail.
