Second of 4 escaped Georgia inmates caught in Fulton County, sheriff's office says

Marc Anderson, 25, was arrested in Fulton County Friday.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — The second of four escaped inmates out of central Georgia has been caught in Fulton County, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said.

Marc Anderson, 25, was arrested in Fulton County Friday after he had been on the run since escaping the Bibb County Jail on Oct. 16.

Anderson was arrested in January 2021 for aggravated assault. He was scheduled to go to court in December for a calendar call to get basic updates, such as if he was ready for trial or not, according to the sheriff's office.

Another inmate, Chavis Stokes, was captured in Montezuma last Thursday after an 11-day manhunt. Stokes now faces a felony count of escape and faces up to 10 more years in prison, according to the sheriff's office.

There are two inmates -- 52-year-old Joey Fournier and 37-year-old Johnifer Barnwell -- who are still on the run as authorities continue their manhunt.

Anderson was found at a highrise condo in Buckhead, authorities said.
