ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett is recovering from coronavirus and has been self-quarantining at home.
In a Facebook video post on the Rockdale County Sheriff's page on Friday, Levett said he is feeling much better and looking forward to returning to work at some point next week.
He said he has completed his 15th day of self-quarantine.
Levett had initially started to feel ill after coming into contact with another employee of the sheriff's office who had been diagnosed with COVID-19.
After a test, the sheriff learned that he had, indeed, been diagnosed with the virus. He said that he had experienced some very rough days but he is now "over the hump."
Levett encouraged everyone to continue to practice social distancing in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
