Family, friends, the community in Paulding County and law enforcement officers across metro Atlanta and north Georgia gathered on Friday to pay respects to Deputy Brandon Cunningham.
Paulding County Sheriff's Deputy Cunningham, 30, died after being "ambushed" while responding to a domestic dispute call in Hiram last weekend. The suspect, James Samuel Atkins, later died by suicide after barricading himself inside the home for hours, the Paulding County Sheriff's Office said.

PHOTOS: Funeral for fallen Paulding County deputy killed in line of duty
The sheriff's office said this was the first time a deputy had ever been killed in the line of duty in Paulding County since it was established in 1834.
Deputy Cunningham is remembered as a hard worker who excelled at his job. The sheriff's office said he planned to get married and left behind two children, ages 9 and 12.

- Time and place: The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at West Ridge Church, 3522 Hiram Acworth Hwy.
- Streaming: The public can view a live stream of the services at the West Ridge Church website here or on the West Ridge Church Facebook page.
- Visitation beforehand: Taking place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Procession: The 9.4-mile processional route will run from the church down Dallas Highway to Kennesaw Memorial Park, located at 1306 Whitlock Ave SW, Marietta, GA. See below for the full procession map.
- Burial service to follow funeral: This is specifically for family, friends and Paulding County Sheriff's Office personnel only.
- Memorial and supporting the family: A memorial patrol vehicle is outside the sheriff's office, where the public can leave flowers and condolences. - Cobb County Schools early release: The district is releasing students early Friday, to clear the roads for the procession. High school students will get out at 11:30 a.m. and middle school students will get out at 12:30 p.m., with no changes to the schedule for elementary school students.
