ATLANTA — Severe weather swept across north Georgia late Wednesday and into the early Thursday morning hours, with a second round of storms expected later in the morning.
That has left thousands in the region without power.

North Georgia, metro Atlanta power outages after severe weather
Georgia Power
As of 10:40 a.m., there are more than 11,000 outages in the region. Significant outages by county are as listed below:
- Fulton County: 842 customers
- Madison County: 2,525 customers
- Gilmer County: 1,971 customers
- Habersham County: 276 customers
- Murray County: 1,665 customers
- Barrow County: 1,411 customers
- Floyd County: 568 customers
Georgia EMC
The Georgia EMC outage map can be found here. It does not provide county-by-county numbers as detailed as Georgia Power's, but offers an overview by region.
As of 10:40 a.m. there are 16,845 outages statewide listed. The partial breakdown is as follows:
- North Georgia: 11,355
- Northeast Georgia: 2,419
- Metro Atlanta: 2,150
