Kemp wishes 'speedy recovery' for state superintendent involved in crash

The governor tweeted about the accident Thursday.

Georgia's School Superintendent Richard Woods was involved in a crash Thursday, according to Gov. Brian Kemp.

Kemp tweeted that he was praying for the state's education leader and wishing him "a full and speedy recovery."

Details about the crash are unknown. 

According to the biography on The Georgia Department of Education's website, Woods is a Florida native who grew up in a military family, which landed him in Georgia.

He has more than 25 years of experience in public education, working in various roles throughout the years.

Woods received is bachelor's degree from Kennesaw State University and graduated from Valdosta State University with a master's degree.
