DUNWOODY, Ga. — A man who was hit by several vehicles during a morning crash on I-285 on Monday has now been identified.
The Dunwoody Police Department said the person who died was 38-year-old Victor Dimas-Paniagua of Doraville.
According to police, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash on I-285 westbound at Chamblee Dunwoody Road on Monday shortly before 5 a.m. When officers arrived, they found six vehicles involved in a crash.
Police said that three vehicles were involved in a crash but then there was a second collision -- causing a chain reaction with several other vehicles. Dimas-Paniagua was one of the drivers involved in the initial crash who was outside his vehicle when he was hit by several other vehicles. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Five other people involved in the crash were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
