Marietta PD applauds work of GDOT worker in shoulder-deep water

'He's risking his life, soaked to the bone, to address the problem.'

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Marietta Police left a special message on Saturday for a worker they spotted going above and beyond by nearly taking a dive under.

A photo shared by the department shows a Georgia Department of Transportation employees working to clear a drain along I-75 at the North Loop.  It's worth noting, however, that this was no ordinary attempt.

"This GDOT worker is SHOULDER DEEP in a drain," Marietta Police said.

Police said that they had already had three "nasty accidents" and that he was helping save lives on the interstate.

"He's risking his life, soaked to the bone, to address the problem," the department wrote.

They said he only had one complaint: That he wished he could find a way to clear the drain faster.

"What an amazing guy," the department wrote.
