MARTA to run more trains in downtown Atlanta for Peach Bowl

With an expected influx of fans and partygoers, MARTA is staying one step ahead of larger-than-usual crowds.

ATLANTA — New Year's weekend is quickly approaching, and The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl game and parade are expected to bring an influx of people into Atlanta. In anticipation of the big event, MARTA is expanding its train services over the holiday weekend in an effort to manage large crowds. 

Here’s a breakdown of travel times for Saturday, Dec. 30:

Beginning at 9:30 a.m., shuttle trains will run

  •  Between Five Points Station and Mercedes-Benz Stadium/State Farm Arena/GWCC Station to move people to the Peach Bowl.

Starting at 11 a.m., trains will run:

  • Every 6 minutes on the Red/Gold Line (Between Lindbergh Center Station and Airport Station)
  • Every 6 minutes on the Blue/Green Line (Between Ashby Station and King Memorial Station.)

Starting at 7 p.m., service frequency will decrease to 10 minutes.
