FAIRBURN, Ga. — Fishermen discovered a body in the Chattahoochee River earlier this month. On Friday, Chattahoochee Hills Police identified the body as a 30-year-old man who disappeared in May.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified 30-year-old LaMarcus Wilkerson of Fairburn after matching dental records. Wilkerson was last seen on May 25.

His body was discovered at the Cambellton Park Boat Ramp in Fulton County on June 5.

Chattahoochee Hills Police said they recovered a vehicle registered to a family member of his earlier in the investigation, but Wilkerson had not been reported missing at that time. The City of South Fulton Police took charge of the investigation.

Wilkerson had recently graduated from Kennesaw State University with a master's in cybersecurity, according to a family member.

His cause of death is still under investigation.

The Wilkerson family has started a GoFundMe to raise money for funeral costs. So far, they raised 10% of their $25,000 goal.
