Here's a look at Atlanta's most competitive restaurant concept

ATLANTA — A report by Ondeck Capital, a small business lender in the U.S., uncovered the most and least competitive restaurant concepts in the Peach State.

The report analyzes 32 types of food businesses, from steakhouses to brunch to burgers and more, in 502 major U.S. cities across all 50 states. To find the most competitive and least competitive restaurant industries, Ondeck Capital analyzed each business type per 100K population to find the density of each type in each state and major U.S. city.

Here's a look at the findings of the report: 

  • In Atlanta, seafood is currently the most competitive restaurant concept, while pizza is the least competitive. 
  • Meanwhile, in Georgia, BBQ is the most competitive restaurant concept, and Mexican restaurants are the least likely to start in 2025.
  • Steakhouses face the most direct competition in the U.S. Across the nation, the least competitive restaurant type to start in 2025 is Korean, which faces the least competition in 12 states.
