CUMMING, Ga. — The reopening of the Cumming Library will not be Monday, December 2, as previously planned due to a delay in renovation deliveries. The reopening date is now Friday, December 6 at 10 am.
“We regret any inconvenience to our patrons and we appreciate the patience they’ve shown during the renovation project,” says Branch Manager Denise Leeson.
On Friday, visitors are invited to take guided behind-the-scenes tours, enjoy scavenger hunts, and make holiday crafts. Renovations to the building include new shelving, carpet and tile, and lighting fixtures. In addition, the interior will have new paint and book organization.
The building has been closed since October 14 for $320,000 renovation project. The last time the building was renovated was in 2007.
The Library is still accepting return books and materials to its outdoor book drop. Materials can also be returned at the Hampton Park, Post Road, and Sharon Forks libraries.
“We understand that our patrons are eager to get back into the Cumming Library, and we’d like to thank them for visiting our other three branches. Members of our Cumming Library staff have been working at the other branches during the renovation and they’ve told us what a joy it is to see and talk with their regular patrons,” says Leeson.
Information on upcoming programs and events at the Cumming Library, as well as other FCPL locations, is available online at www.forsythpl.org.
