CUMMING, Ga. — The owner of Socks' Love Barbecue, Steven Hartsock, posted a video to the restaurant's Facebook page recently, offering a free meal to anyone that is hungry.
Hartsock got emotional in the video as he talked about children who rely on school lunches to eat.
"There are kids and people that rely on free breakfast and free lunch and they're not going to get that...they're going to be hungry," says Hartsock.
The restaurant continues on to say, "If you're hungry, come here and we'll feed you. If you can't come here, we'll get food to you."
Hartsock also touched on the ways in which the virus will affect our communities, other than contracting it.
"Most of us will not get the coronavirus. But the impacts we will see, you may not even realize," explains Hartsock.
The owner concluding the video with a call to action of sorts, asking anyone who is hungry including 'restaurant workers, people that have been laid off, and students that just can't afford a meal' to contact the business.
As of March 31, restaurant staff says they are still making this an available option to the community.
Socks' Love Barbecue is located at 1050 Buford Highway, Suite #104, in Cumming.
