LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Sirius is a two year old tabby cat that has been at the shelter since the summer. Shelter staff say he is nervous around loud noises and they would like to get him out of the shelter quickly because of his anxiety.
Staci Miller with the Gwinnett Animal Shelter says he loves to lay in your lap, “he just melts into you and really doesn’t ever want to move.”
Miller says that Sirius is also very chatty, “he talks a lot in whenever we are near his crate…just wanting attention and love.”
Lizzy is eight years old and has been at the shelter since July. She adores treats and attention.
Miller says she is not shy about showing her affection, “she is the biggest sweetheart…she will just come right up to you and lick you across the face.”
Lizzy does know a few tricks including speak and sit. She is heart worm positive, but per policy, the shelter will treat her once she has an adoption commitment.
As a part of their senior dog category, Lizzy is free for adoption this entire month. Sirius is also free for this week, as Gwinnett Animal Welfare’s pet of the week.
