The Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services is hosting its 20th annual Gwinnett Great Days of Service Oct. 25 and 26.
The Great Days of Service event seeks to "mobilize thousands of individuals, corporations, churches, schools and communities in meaningful volunteer service to address some of Gwinnett County’s most critical needs," according to their website.
"This started 20 years ago for volunteers to get to know their county. We are thrilled to know that residents will be able to impact their community in a variety of ways," Suzy Bus, program director with the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services said.
This weekend's volunteer opportunities will include projects at schools, healthcare organizations and libraries.
"We have 200 projects and we expect many thousand volunteers to participate," Bus told 11Alive.
The average annual impact of these project totals more than $700,000, according to the Gwinnett Great Days of Service website.
There is no cost to participate in these events and supplies will be provided for the projects and events will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. both days.
