DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Surveillance photos have been released by DeKalb County Police of suspects in the killing of an 18-year-old at a Decatur gas station on Tuesday.
Specifically, this happened at the Shell on Snapfinger Woods Drive around 6 p.m.
"Initial information is the victim had just walked out of the gas station when he was shot," DeKalb Police said.
Meanwhile, the victim's mother, who identified the victim as Akhir Muhammad said police think it was an attempted robbery.
"It was a random act. Someone walked up to him and I guess they thought he might've had a gun in his pocket and tried to rob him," Cadedra Bryant said.
After she looked at the suspect's pictures, Bryant said she didn't recognize them. Now, she wants them to pay for their crimes.
"He just cooked us spaghetti, so, that's why I'm saying I'm lost," Bryant said. "I'm so lost."
Bryant said that after she found out about the death of her son, she has been devastated.
"I'm oblivious. I'm tapped out. I didn't go to sleep," Bryant said.
A worker at the Shell station said that Muhammad was a regular customer who came to the store with his friend to buy vape products. The worker said that when he left, the suspects shot Muhammad, took his bag and ran off.
"If you can do the act, you can do the time," Bryant said.
She said she will be holding a vigil for her son at the same Shell station where he died on Saturday evening around 6 p.m.
Those with any information on the identity of these suspects are asked to contact the Homicide/Assault Unit at 770-724-7850.
