Power restored after outage for certain gates at Atlanta airport, officials say

Airport officials said all gates and concessionaries impacted by the outage are operational as of 5:58 p.m.
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has already seen record-breaking travel ahead of the holiday.

ATLANTA — All power is restored at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport after it experienced a brief outage for some of its gates on Sunday evening.

This comes after water service was restored for the airport while the city deals with impacts from water main breaks that prompted a boil water advisory for much of the city.

Airport officials took to social media on Sunday at 4:37 p.m. to alert travelers that the power was out between Gates B 24 and B 36 after an airline contractor drilled into a power line. Operations in the area are being modified to alleviate any impacts and crews are assessing to remedy the situation.

Officials updated travelers again at 5:58 p.m., stating that power was restored to the gates impacted by the outage. All gates and concessionaires affected are operational.
