CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. — The Carroll County Sheriff's Office shared Wednesday morning how the public can donate and help the family of Deputy Taylor Bristow, who was shot and critically injured on Tuesday.
The shooting happened while Deputy Bristow was serving a warrant, and he was rushed to Grady Hospital in Atlanta where he underwent surgery. The sheriff's office later said he had a CT scan and was moved out of ICU, though there was not a full update on his condition.
The full scope of his condition was still unclear in a Facebook post the sheriff's office made at 10:58 a.m. on Wednesday. It stated:
Many of you have been asking for updates on Investigator Bristow, and we truly appreciate your continued concern. Grady doctors are closely monitoring his condition, and we are currently in a holding pattern as we wait for further updates. Please continue to keep Investigator Bristow in your thoughts and prayers during this critical time.
How to help Deputy Bristow and his family
The sheriff's office said the above link is the "only legitimate donation site" for Deputy Bristow, provided by West Georgia First Responders.
The post added:
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out, brought food, and offered assistance to the family and to those who work alongside Investigator Bristow. Your generosity and support mean more than words can express. Feel free to share this message as needed, and thank you again for your continued support.
