GILMER COUNTY, Ga. — The Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office announced additional charges in the murder investigation of a 19-year-old back in September, bringing the total people arrested to seven.

Authorities now say three more individuals face charges related to Mallory Warden's death and a series of planned armed robberies across North Georgia.

The latest suspects include:

  • Aspen Leigh Cagle, 15, from Ball Ground, was charged with felony murder and felony robbery.
  • Madison Alina Grace Perez, 19, from Ellijay, was charged with felony murder.
  • A 17-year-old from Ball Ground was charged with felony robbery.

According to Gilmer County Sheriff Stacy Nicholson, the charges stem from the group’s alleged involvement in a series of robberies conducted between Ellijay and Jasper. Nicholson emphasized the department’s commitment to holding everyone accountable, stating, “If you help someone commit a crime in any way, you will go to jail.”

This latest update follows the earlier arrests of four suspects shortly after Warden’s death. Authorities responded to a 911 call on the night of Sept. 18 and found Warden with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle on South Main Street in Ellijay. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died. Following an investigation, officials determined the shooting occurred on Talona Road.

Three men from Ellijay—Gray Anthony McClure, 21; Robert Gabriel Shoilekov, 17; and Davonnte Lavon Brehon, 18—were initially arrested and charged with felony murder. A fourth suspect, Anthony Jared Inestruza Whisnant, 19, was arrested days later, also facing a felony murder charge.

Nicholson stressed that the investigation remains active, and more arrests are anticipated.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is assisting in the case, and officials urge anyone with information to contact the GBI’s Cleveland office at 706-348-4866 or the Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office at 706-635-4646.
