ATLANTA —
Atlanta Police need help finding a man accused of robbing a jogger on the BeltLine earlier this week.
Officers released surveillance video of the man they are looking for in connection with the Memorial Day crime.
According to the APD incident report, police were called to Harwell Street for the pedestrian robbery.
The victim told officers she was running north on the BeltLine. When she reached the end at Lena Street, she turned around and noticed a man trying to flag her down. She ignored him.
The suspect then tapped her on the shoulder and pulled out a gun from his waistband, pointing it at her side.
The victim told police he demanded the fanny pack that had her keys inside. She handed it over to the robber and he took off on Harwell Street toward Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, the incident report said.
The victim ran until she reached Stafford Street and called 911. The incident report said her bag was located and the only thing that was taken was her iPhone X.
Now that the suspect has been identified, investigators have secured a warrant to charge him with armed robbery. Anyone who sees the man, contact APD.
Despite having a name, police are not yet publicly identifying him as their investigation continues.
