ATLANTA — Following the November general election, two local races for city council seats in Atlanta and East Point are heading to runoffs.
A state or local race goes to a runoff in Georgia if no candidate on the ballot clears the 50% + 1 vote majority threshold.

In Fulton County, that included the race for the open Atlanta City Council Post 3 (at large) seat and the East Point City Council Ward B (at large) seat.
The Atlanta runoff is between Nicole "Nikki" Evans Jones, who received just more than 40% of the vote, and Eshé Collins, who got just under 24.5%. The East Point runoff is between Jermaine Wright (31.87%) and Shean Atkins (30.77%).
Early voting in these races begins this Saturday, November 23.

Times
- Saturday, November 23: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Sunday, November 24: Noon-5 p.m.
- Monday, November 25; Tuesday, November 26; and Wednesday, November 27: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
There is no early voting on Thanksgiving Day (November 28) or the day after (Friday, November 29) which is also observed as a state holiday. There is also no weekend early voting in the final weekend before Election Day.
Election Day for the runoffs is Tuesday, December 3.
