Georgia early vote total over 620,000 after two days

That represents an 8.6% turnout so far of the state's more than 7 million voters, according to the Secretary of State's Office data page.

ATLANTA — More than 620,000 people have now voted in Georgia in the 2024 election, sate figures show as of Thursday morning.

The second day of the early voting period in Georgia nearly equaled the first, record-breaking day, with close to another 300,000 people casting ballots on Wednesday, according to the turnout data hub on the Georgia Secretary of State's website.

The data hub was having operability issues as of 8 a.m., so further details on county and demographic turnout were not fully available.

According to the website, the more than 620,000 votes cast so far represents 8.6% of turnout for Georgia's more than 7.1 million registered active voters.

Of the votes cast, a little more than 35,000 are absentee ballots and more than 585,000 have been early in-person votes.

The early voting period runs Monday-Saturday in all counties between now and Nov. 1 (note that cutoff day -- Saturday, Nov. 2 is not an early voting day).
