ATLANTA — More than 897,100 people have now voted in Georgia in the 2024 election, state figures show as of Thursday night.
Gabriel Sterling, COO for the Georgia Secretary of State's Office, shared in a post on X that the state officially broke the quarter million mark Thursday for the third day in a row.
"Massive turnout. Goal 1,000,000 on Friday," the post said.
According to the turnout data hub on the Georgia Secretary of State's website, about 255,320 early voting (in-person) ballots were accepted on Thursday, as of 9:30 p.m.

According to the website, the 897,173 votes cast so far represent 12.5% of the turnout for Georgia's more than 7.1 million registered active voters.
Right now, 49,973 absentee ballots have been accepted, and 847,200 ballots have been early in-person votes.
The early voting period runs Monday-Saturday in all counties between now and Nov. 1 (note that cutoff day -- Saturday, Nov. 2 is not an early voting day).
