ATLANTA — Georgia's 159 counties are set to certify the 2024 election on Tuesday, the deadline day for certification.
The deadline for counties comes 10 days before the Nov. 22 deadline for Georgia Sec. of State Brad Raffensperger to certify the results.
The deadline for Gov. Brian Kemp to certify the slate of electors for casting Georgia's Electoral College votes -- this year, the Republican electors for President-elect Donald Trump -- is the next day, Nov. 23.

The federally-mandated day for Electoral College electors to meet -- in Georgia, this is generally done at the Capitol Building in Atlanta -- is the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December. That is December 17 this year.
Runoffs
This doesn't apply to the presidential election, but any local and state races that are headed to a runoff in Georgia -- those where no candidate met the 50% + 1 vote majority threshold -- will be decided in runoff elections on Dec. 3.
For a rundown of some of those races, see below:
2024 election in Georgia
President-elect Trump received more than 2.6 million votes in the Peach State, amounting to 50.74% of the state total.
Vice President Kamala Harris received 48.52% of the vote, with a little more than 2.5 million votes.
Why no recount?
There were two additional recounts in Georgia in 2020 --- one a hand count ordered by Sec. Raffensperger as an audit, and the second a machine recount.
It remains state law for the secretary to order a risk-limiting audit on one federal or statewide contest, selected by Raffensperger. The scheduled dates for those are Nov. 14 and 15 -- this Thursday and Friday.
The machine recount in Georgia in 2020 was available by law to the Trump campaign that year because the result was within 0.5%. He has won in Georgia this year by more than 2%, and no recount option is available to the Harris campaign.
