ATLANTA — Already in Georgia through two days of early voting, more than 620,000 have cast a ballot.
Just remember: Don't take a picture of it.

With the flood of early voters flocking to polls, experts are reminding Georgians that it's illegal in the Peach State to take a picture of your ballot or the voting screen where you make your selections.
Sara Tindall Ghazal, a Democratic member of the Georgia State Election Board, posted Wednesday the Georgia law prohibiting the practice of taking pictures of ballots, or "ballot selfies."
Georgia Code § 21-2-568.2 states it shall be illegal to "photograph or record the face of an electronic ballot marker while a ballot is being voted or while an elector’s votes are displayed on such electronic ballot marker; or photograph or record a voted ballot."
According to Ghazal and Georgia State law professor Anthony Michael Kreis, the idea behind this restriction is it's supposed to help prevent vote selling.
"Remember, Georgia, taking ballot selfies is illegal. If you want to share that you voted with a cute picture, Post the Peach," Kreis wrote on X.
The early voting period runs Monday-Saturday in all counties between now and Nov. 1 (note that cutoff day -- Saturday, Nov. 2 is not an early voting day). Sunday voting is optional county-by-county, so check the Georgia Secretary of State's website here for your county's specific timing and location information. Pull the drop down menu to NOVEMBER 5, 2024 - GENERAL ELECTION" and then select your county in the second drop-down menu.)
