ATLANTA — If you've been dragging your feet on getting registered to vote for the 2024 election, today's your last day to act in Georgia.
The voter registration deadline of Monday, October 7 is provided for by Georgia law, which sets it 30 days before an election -- Tuesday, November 5 this year.

Click here to visit the Georgia Secretary of State's Office registration page. You can also visit your local elections office and register in person, or, if you wish to print out a registration form and mail it in, it must be postmarked by today.
If you're interested in registering, you will need a Georgia driver's license or Department of Driver Services issued identification card.
The Secretary of State's Office lays out the following requirements for registering:
Be a citizen of the United States
Be a legal resident of the county
Be at least 17 1/2 years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote
Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge
On that third bullet point, it's important to note that if you aren't yet 18 but you'll turn 18 between now and November 5, you are eligible to register by today's deadline and vote in the 2024 election. Those who will turn 18 afterward can still register (if they're 17 1/2) and potentially be eligible for any runoff voting after the general election.
If you've moved counties but are still a Georgia resident and registered voter, you'll also need to re-register.
