ATLANTA — Lawyers for Colin Gray, the father of Apalachee High School shooter Colt Gray, have filed to get the indictment against him dismissed and quashed.
The Barrow County father is accused of providing the weapon used in the Apalachee High School shooting.
Last month, he waived an arraignment and pleaded not guilty.
The document filed by Colin Gray's lawyers, a general demurrer, challenges the indictment on grounds that it "fails adequately to charge this defendant with any offense against the laws of the State of Georgia." The document asserts the indictment fails to sufficiently set out the charge" on each of the counts against him.

According to court records, a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent testified that Colt texted his parents before the shooting, stating, "You're not to blame."
GBI agents have also testified that Colt's mother, Marcee Gray, said to them her son had a "fascination with school shooters and school shootings" and that he had access to guns at home.
Colt, who also pleaded not guilty, is accused of killing four people — two students and two teachers — during the attack.
