ATLANTA — It's the annual AJC Peachtree Road Race memento cherished by runners, who run the race and cross the finish line to finally see what it looks like -- the race T-shirt.
The T-shirt serves as a sort of badge of honor for the Peachtree racers, and with the first runners crossing the finish line early Thursday morning we now have a look at the 2024 edition.
The design -- which is always chosen from a number of finalists -- this year focuses on Peachtree Street itself. The light blue shirt has the road cutting through the center of a peach, on which Atlanta's buildings and landmarks pop up to complete the cityscape.
The Peachtree is as much as anything a social event and community celebration, and the T-shirt serves as a marker of that. Congrats to all the runners out there this year, wear your shirt with pride!

In the elite divisions earlier on Thursday morning, Stacy Ndiwa of Kenya won the women's race and Sabastian Sawe, also of Kenya, won the men's race in two finishes that came down to the wire.
And in the wheelchair division, the dynasties of Daniel Romanchuk among the men and Susannah Scaroni among the women continued. Romanchuk won his seventh Peachtree and Scaroni her fourth.
